Oh, necklaces! I love how they can instantly elevate an outfit, adding that perfect touch of sparkle or personality. But let's be honest, the struggle to actually put them on can be incredibly frustrating. I've spent countless minutes wrestling with tiny clasps, feeling like I need to be a contortionist just to get my favorite piece around my neck. If you've ever felt the same way, you're definitely not alone!
For years, putting on a necklace was a dreaded task. I’d fumble with the clasp, drop it repeatedly, and sometimes even end up with a tangled mess. I remember one particular morning when I was already running late, and I just couldn't get the clasp of my delicate chain to cooperate. I almost gave up and went without it, but I really wanted to wear it. That's when I thought, "There has to be a better way!"
My quest for easier necklace-wearing led me to a few game-changing discoveries. Here's what I learned:
One of the first things I tried was replacing the standard clasps on some of my necklaces with magnetic ones. Seriously, this was a revelation! I found that using magnetic clasps made it so much easier to put on my necklaces. No more fiddling with tiny lobster claws or struggling to see what I was doing behind my neck. It's just a simple snap, and the necklace is secure. I even found a beautiful Blingcharming necklace with a magnetic clasp, and it’s become one of my go-to pieces.
I also realized I was making things harder on myself by trying to put the necklace on behind my neck. A friend suggested putting it on in front, clasping it, and then turning it around. It sounds simple, but it made a huge difference! Now, I can see exactly what I'm doing, which eliminates a lot of the frustration.
Another trick I found helpful was using a mirror. I'd hold the necklace in front of the mirror, clasp it, and then turn it around. This worked well, especially for necklaces with more intricate clasps. Though, I have to admit, sometimes I get so lazy that I just wear the same necklace every day and never take it off! It's my signature piece now.
When I first started getting acrylic nails, I found it nearly impossible to manage the tiny o-rings on my necklaces. Then I had an idea. I realized that using tweezers to hold the o-ring while I fumbled with the lobster clasp really helped until I mastered how to do it on my own. Practicing with the necklace off my neck also made a big difference. It gave me a chance to get a feel for the clasp and how it worked without the added pressure of trying to do it behind my head.
I also found that chokers are incredibly easy to wear and can add a lot of style to any outfit. Recently, I've been loving the Tocona Gothic Wide Flower Black Lace Chokers Necklaces. They're so easy to put on and take off, and they look amazing!
I especially love wearing this choker from Blingcharming when I want to add a little bit of edge to my look. The lace is so delicate and feminine, but the gothic style gives it a cool, rebellious vibe. It's also really comfortable to wear, which is a huge plus.
